At the start of our project, we got a little present: a Moleskine engraved with the Europe by People logo.
During our weekly meetings, lectures and projects, I started making little drawings and notes; observations, ideas, peoples we meet, etc. In this post I share my sketchbook with you.
You’ll find a sketch for a future Euro banknote,
ideas to make contact with the important people behind the defense wall,
personal notes and quotes by European visionaries…
There is one page with two Roland Topor drawings relating to our European crisis, I love his way of looking at the world. Have a look at Les Escargots, a beautiful short animation movie where problems are solved, but lead to bigger problems.
Recently, I thought of a Nobel Prize for Shame, as to not only give money to people that did something fantastic for our world, but also as to focus on what is going totally wrong. The 1,2 million dollar prize is little money compared to what is needed, but it is a start to give full attention to this crisis in a both provocative but also constructive way.
Many of the sketches appear as an instant reaction to what I see or hear, and most of them disappear from my mind as quick as they came. By collecting them in the sketchbook, I make an archive of my thoughts during this six months project.
